2.8 billion people live without adequate shelter. A lack of decent housing negatively affects the health, education, and well-being of people around the world. We believe that a decent home helps to permanently break the cycle of poverty, allowing families to achieve strength, stability and self-reliance.

We are working to create much needed affordable homes and support local communities throughout Great Britain.

Our disaster relief work takes us across the world in support of communities affected by natural, and man-made, disasters.
We believe Water and Sanitation programmes are essential to help turn a house into a healthy home.
In many countries, upgrading informal settlements is essential to improving housing conditions and creating safer, more secure communities.
Families living in informal settlements are bearing the brunt of climate change while contributing little to global carbon emissions. Housing policy solutions need to adapt to a changing climate.
In Great Britain, we have a shortage of affordable, decent homes. Our programmes work with partners to help address these housing challenges.
